Elliot Drake
Elliot is a hardworking kid who enjoys life, even though he's living in the slums with his alcoholic father. He's always ready to help others, and may even trust people too much. Friends are very important to him, and he loves adventures. Unlike all the other kids, Elliot is capable of casting magic spells.

Tanya Van Shryder
Once Tanya's parents lived in the city of Dalari, but were forced to the slums by Magnus Henrik. Now Tanya suffers from her parents' fighting, and is occasionally stressed out. She's very boyish and likes to play boys' games. She spends most of her time with Elliot and Jack.

Jack Morgan
Jack is a hot-tempered boy who suffers from a trauma left by the murder of his parents. He's determined that Magnus Henrik was behind the murder, and swears revenge. The trauma has made this sweet boy sarcastic and mentally unbalanced; he often loses control of himself for no reason.

Freuden Gilron
As a gang leader of the Jackals (a group of boys) in the city of Dalari, Freuden has been living a tough life. He's strong and respected in his gang, but deep inside he feels weak and lost. His best friend was taken to an asylum prison by Magnus Henrik, and he fears that he's the next on the list.

Magnus Henrik
This wraith-like being is a walking dread, where ever he goes, darkness follows. Evil to the heart, he has no feelings, no compassion or sympathy. Terrifyingly powerful and intelligent, possessing knowledge of centuries and might of ancient kings, Magnus Henrik is truly a man to be feared.

Marquis Jacob Efrine
Once he was liked, a good ruler for his province, admired by his people. Then his kindness fell into shadow, changing him to a tyrant; the well-being of his people is no longer his concern. Instead, he's gathering all the money he can get from the people as taxes, controlling their lifes and planning his dark schemes. Jacob Efrine is a stubborn man, holding tightly to what is left of his sanity. He's very powerful both in magic and weaponskill.

Counselor Edward Giling
Edward Giling has seen the rise of the city of Dalari; he has seen the days of glory, when the city was full of life. He has seen the laughter turn into silent whispers, and the decaying ruin that is now Dalari, the biggest province of the Empire. Edward did his best to keep his lord from falling into the ways of madness, but has been forced to admit that he failed. His wisdom could not save the people from harm.

Captain Al Gargant
Little is known of the Captain of the Dalari Guard. It is said that he came far from the north, where warriors are as fierce as the blizzards that rage in their lands. This giant is a ruthless beast who's exploiting his position to fulfill his twisted desires. He's exactly what Magnus Henrik was hoping for, when he appointed Al Gargant to his current position.

Shak'Uma Shade
All her life she's been an outcast, hunted like a dog for her magical abilities. The witch hunters seek to destroy her, others want to exploit her skills. No one understands her dark beauty, she's only envied, hated and mistreated. Uma lives in her own dark world, walking in shadows which protect her from the outside world.

Skhisnak
This mysterious rat-shaman nests in the underworld. As a servant of the rat-demigod, he preaches the end of mankind. Skhisnak is a member of a clan called The Crimson Monks. This clairvoyant knows and sees more than most, and thus he is very valuable to his masters.

Arma Gatza
During the great cleansing many centuries ago, Arma Gatza was killed by the Imperial vampire hunters. Most of his kin suffered the same fate, and vampires were almost killed to extinction. Yet somehow he still lives, sworn to avenge the fate of his race. His eyes were pierced by the vampire hunters, so he trusts his vision to the night animals. Arma Gatza is a powerful member of the Crimson Monks.
